Disciplinary Background
Admission to the master's program is open to students who have completed at least six semesters of a bachelor's degree program comprising a total of 180 CP, or a comparable program, with a focus on the humanities or social sciences, or on mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering, and who demonstrate special aptitude for the program.
A further admission requirement is proof of:
a) At least 6 CP in foundations of philosophy and/or the history of science, and at least 6 CP in logic.
b) For applicants with a degree focused on mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering, additional coursework in the humanities and social sciences totaling at least 30 CP.
In exceptional cases, applicants who fall just short of one or more of these requirements are still encouraged to apply to the program.
Language
The programme will be operated in English (with only a small number of optional courses being taught in German). Potential students whose mother tongue is not English, have to present sufficient skills of the English language (B2 niveau; english version) either via appropriate certificates (TOEFEL, at least 88 points or equivalent tests; University Language Center ZFA) or 8 to 9 years of English in school (with higher school certificate (Abitur)).

PERSONALLY OR VIA INTERNET.
